I’m a Terrible Meditator.

Like, I really suck! I sit down, close my eyes and can’t get the chatter in my head to shut up, and that’s if I even sit at all…

Ok. I do try. I have 30 minutes set aside on my calendar each day for meditation. I don’t use all 30, I just need that big of a chunk of time set aside so I can get in 10-15 minutes of sit time.

I don’t think I need to list all the reasons meditation is good for you. I think we all know that it is. The problem is carving out the time, then knowing what in hell to do with ourselves if we make it to the cushion!

I’ve been doing good lately, but it’s because I’ve been cheating, and thought you might want to know how you can cheat too. I’ve found an awesome podcast by hypnotist Chel Hamilton. Her voice is amazing. Soothing and real, not that fake slow whispery voice that people tend to put on when they are recording a meditation (I hope to hell I don’t do this! If you ever get an audio from me that sounds phony baloney, you better let me know!).

These are short and sweet, just 10 minutes on average, but they are surprisingly effective. Sometimes, I’m so in the zone when the podcast is done, that I just keep sitting for longer, but usually, I’m back up and at ‘em when her bell rings.

Check her out, then let me know what you think!

  • you can also look her up on Spotify or Bandcamp apps and listen right from your phone.

I pay for her subscription service so I don’t have to listen to the quick ad at the beginning of the free version, easily the best $10 I spend every month! You know how I feel about supporting people who are doing good things in the world, so $10 is a bargain!
